Brickyard / Hardscapes Material Handler

Purpose / General Description: 

Provide materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution. Brickyard – hardscape is responsible for maintaining processes and procedures in the workforce that ensure performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory accuracy and Productivity are continuously improving.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a safe working environment for brickyard – hardscape employees. Monitors safety processes with employees and conducts training on equipment use and safe practices.
  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with Falcon.
  • Ensures both locations are always neat and clean. Maintains signage are current and correct and products are in correct locations.
  • Ensures all orders are filled and trucks are loaded correctly in a timely manner.
  • Reports to purchasing manager on any shortages, damaged goods, or missing items. Maintains a secure environment of all products purchased.
  • Interacts with all customers in a professional manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 2 years’ experience in working in the brickyard – hardscape with appropriate product knowledge.
  • Skilled in forklift operation, and ability to load trucks.
  • Ability to learn new software programs
  • Strong organization, project management and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills (communicate well at all levels) (Bilingual skills are a plus)
  • Ability to actively participate in improvement efforts and contribute to the success of a team

General Labor / Fork Lift Operator

Purpose / General Description:

General Laborer is responsible for starting, setting up, operating, monitoring, maintaining and shutting down equipment while working to improve performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Housekeeping, Using fork lift to maneuver material.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Always maintain safety awareness, wear all PPE consistently, perform tasks in a safe manner and ensure others work safely at all times. Bring awareness to issues and potential issues (near-miss) as discovered in all areas of the operation.
  • Clearly understand all expectations for performance, policies, procedures and standard work requirements of the various management systems: Safety, Quality, Operations, Maintenance and Housekeeping.
  • Be an effective team member by setting a proper example, fulfilling responsibilities, keeping commitments to others, communicating effectively and building teamwork within the group.
  • Operate forklift with power industrial lift to load and unload block and materials.
  • Perform to all production schedule requirements. Respond effectively to changes or problems in the production environment to ensure the best possible outcomes for all customers.
  • Complete all production and inventory reporting accurately and in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Able to communicate (written and verbal) in English
  • Valid NC Driver License and / or have reliable transportation to work
  • Able to lift (up to 50 lbs.) and be physically fit to perform tasks and operate equipment
  • Work independently and diligently with minimal directions, to complete tasks on schedule
  • Communicate well with team members and supervision
  • Forklift Certified preferred but will train

Groundskeeper

Purpose / General Description:

Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the lawns and grounds at multiple locations of plants of operation. The success of this role will be an individual who will ensure grounds are clean – both visually and operatively. Groundskeeper must be able to operate zero turn mowers and weed eaters, and also have some knowledge of landscaping. Individual will be hard-working, dependable and meticulous. Individual will also be working to improve performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Housekeeping.

Maintenance Crew Member 

Purpose / General Description:

Maintenance Crew Member is responsible for inspecting different types of equipment and perform repairs or preventative maintenance when required. Maintenance Crew Member will also work to improve performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Housekeeping.

Mixer Driver / Operator – Concrete Service

Purpose / General Description:
Delivery of ready-mixed concrete and other associated products to construction sites within reasonable proximity due to the perish ability of ready-mixed concrete. The daily work schedule may consist of five, up to 12-hour days, with overtime on both a voluntary or mandatory basis for work week as well as on Saturdays, depending upon business level requirements.

  • Always maintain safety awareness, wear all PPE consistently, perform tasks in a safe manner and ensure others always work safely (either on-site or at customer locations). Bring awareness to issues and potential issues (near-miss) as discovered.
  • Clearly understand all expectations for performance, policies, procedures and standard work requirements of the various management systems: Safety, Quality, Operations, Maintenance and Housekeeping.
  • Be an effective team member by setting a proper example, fulfilling responsibilities, keeping commitments to others, communicating effectively and building teamwork within the group.
  • Operate and maintain machinery and support equipment as specified for safety, reliable operation and consistent customer service performance.
  • Maneuver and position items as needed. Respond effectively to schedule changes to ensure the best possible outcomes for all customers.
  • Complete all reporting and recordkeeping as required accurately and in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Able to communicate (written and verbal) in English (full proficiency is a plus)
  • Valid NC Driver License, clean driving record, and have reliable transportation to work
  • Valid NC CDL Class A or B license, with one year truck driving experience OR entry level truck driving school certificate
  • Operate tablets, laptops and workstations using various software platforms
  • Able to lift (up to 50 lbs.), and be physically fit to perform tasks and operate equipment
  • Work independently and diligently with minimal directions, to complete tasks on schedule

Service Parts Assistant

Purpose / General Description:
Service Parts Assistant is responsible for assisting the Service Parts Clerk ensuring that parts are available to mechanics and technicians on-time; and that inventories are maintained, stored and organized to promote safety, quality, preservation of the materials and productivity of the employees in the truck shop. Service Parts Assistant is also responsible for moving trucks around the shop, or to local repair companies, and for cleaning the shop facilities.

  • Operate and maintain equipment necessary for moving materials, storing materials, and cleaning facilities.
  • Perform tasks to all scheduled requirements. Respond effectively to changes in plans.
  • Complete all reporting as required accurately and in a timely fashion. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Valid NC Driver License, clean driving record, and have reliable transportation to work
  • Be willing to complete training for CDL Licensing (training provided by company)
  • Able to lift (up to 75 lbs.), and be physically fit to perform tasks and operate equipment
  • Work independently and diligently with minimal directions, to complete tasks on schedule
  • Communicate well with team members and supervision
